This Design collaboration between Gravity Garden and BambooDNA took place over the course of two editions of EDC Las Vegas. The project itself was under the umbrella of a larger project for Bamboo DNA, which was a large shade structure for the CampEDC area of the festival. Our stage was nested inside of this. The stage is a bandshell comprised of rolled steel arches lined radially with guadua angustifolia bamboo poles and skinned with Lycra fabric. In 2019 the façade that covered the dj table was an organic shaped bamboo split basket weave. For the 2021 edition we redesigned the façade with a more design forward look that incorporated subtle curves and cnc machined parts. We wanted to keep the bamboo spirit alive in façade, so we incorporated some of the splits from the previous edition as decorative elements.
