The HoneyComb is design forward built environment that contained multiple hexagonal platforms surrounding a larger multi-tiered hexagonal structure. The central platform is a performance stage, and the surrounding structures were unique spaces for gathering and interacting with others. The original design was created both by designer Ronde Allen and installation company Raven. Originally the structure was comprised of temporary stage decking covered in beehive decoration and was all meant to be temporary and modular. In 2022 we were hired to recreate the Honeycomb as a permanent installation. This required us to create a unique structural design for the new hexagonal decking mimicking the old shape, and to manage the build of that as well as the re installation of the original deco for the 2022 event. The final product of this contract was something very dynamic and pleasing and the attendees were visibly excited while navigating and interacting with it.
