2024 Luna Stage

Envision Festival 2024
Uvita, Costa Rica

The 2024 Luna Stage was an exciting amalgamation of material and design techniques that brought this vibrant stage to life. The visionary painter Luke Brown came in to collaborate on the design with us, and we incorporated his painterly style into an overall form that we designed in house. During the build, we assembled a crew of talented craft artisans and constructed this beautiful psychedelic deity emerging as a stamen from a flowering form. The bamboo and lumber side towers were architectural influences from La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s cathedral in Barcelona. Local tribes people from the Boruca Tribe of Costa Rica came in to hand carve the deity head, adding a meaningful indigenous element to the whole project. The stage and its architectural details offered many opportunities for dynamic lighting and projected visuals during the show. The finished product was a vibrant multi-media sculptural display. A lot of pride was taken while embarking on the creative journey to manifest this piece with such a talented and creative human element.
